When my mom bought me something new as a little girl, I had to stand on our front porch to “show the people.” As an adult, I spent years working in retail before becoming a costume buyer for film and television.
Although this was a dream job, the overconsumption and waste of the fashion and film industry was inescapable. I noticed a decline in the quality of products in the market during my time as a buyer and started making wiser choices with the fabrics and brands I brought into my closet. I made a conscious effort to stop impulse shopping and instead only bought items that were filling a wardrobe gap or that I truly loved.
Taking a step back from my film career, I'm excited to help people feel (and look) like the best, most authentic version of themselves by implementing the same concepts I use on myself. This doesn't mean getting rid of your current wardrobe and buying only the latest trends. This means starting from within, diving deep into who you are and finding your personal style, shopping your closet first (I’m sure there are some gems in there!), and then making mindful choices with the new items we bring into your space.
Getting dressed should feel like an act of self care, and we all deserve to feel our best!
Little me "showing the people".
